West Linton is an attractive historic village on the old Drove road where cattle and sheep were watered on their long walk south to the English markets. Some of the stone carving dates back to the 16th century and a village Heritage Trail makes a pleasant short walk. There are maps available if anyone is interested in a longer walk and "end to enders" - those walking from John o' Groats to Lands End have frequently enjoyed a well-deserved rest at the Meadows.

Only stayed 1 night on a very wet and windy evening. A friendly welcome from Margaret made it seem brighter.
An early breakfast was no problem and there was plenty to choose from.
