West Linton
West
Linton is an attractive historic village on the old Drove road where
cattle and sheep were watered on their long walk south to the English
markets. Some of the stone carving dates back to the 16th century and
a village Heritage Trail makes a pleasant short walk. There are maps
available if anyone is interested in a longer walk and "end to enders" -
those walking from John o' Groats to Lands End have frequently enjoyed
a well-deserved rest at the Meadows.
We have zip and link beds in 2 of the rooms so they can be 2 x large doubles or 2 x twin. This means we cqn accommodate up to 6 in either single or twin rooms - good for golfers. One of the double rooms has an en-suite which has a shower, the other has a toilet/wash-basin en-suite. The singles share a btharoom.
West Linton has its own golf course and close there is another, at Rutherford Castle.
The Meadows B'n'B is only a five minute walk to the village where there is an excellent restaurant and a couple of pubs where you can enjoy good food and a relaxing evening before visiting Castles, Stately Homes, Central Scotland, The Scottish Borders and beyond.
Parking is easy at the Meadows and if you prefer you can leave your car and pick up an Edinburgh City bus at either Hillend or Penicuik.
